Humboldt County Workforce

Humboldt County offers a variety of industries, skill sets and work experiences.  Data recently collected by Iowa Workforce Development revealed the following:

 78.3% employed
  --25.6% are willing to change employment for the right opportunity
  --5.7% underemployed
  --77.9% 
have education/training beyond high school
  --18.9% have an associate degree 
  --6.6% are trade certified
  --2.8% have completed vocational training
  --23% have an undergraduate degree
  --11% have a postgraduate degree
 
 6.9% unemployed
  --64.3% willing and able to enter the workforce
 
 6.7% homemakers, not employed
  --44.4% willing and able to enter the workforce
 
 8.1% retired
  --24.2% willing to enter the workforce in some capacity
 
 Commuting Data
  -- Residents willing to change employment would commute an average of 24 miles one way.

Workforce training and retraining is available through coordination with Iowa Central Community College.  The Iowa New Jobs Training as well as the Iowa Jobs Training programs can be utilized to provide incentives for workforce training.
