Things to Do

Humboldt County has a wide variety of things to do. 

For wildlife & outdoor recreation visit our Parks, Trails and Playgrounds for a listing of fishing spots, camp grounds, cabins, river access for kayaks and canoes, picnic areas, playgrounds, shelter houses and hiking and biking trails.

Visit our Recreation page for information on the Humboldt Recreation Center, youth and adult activities and the Humboldt Aquatic Center.  

Humboldt County Fair is hosted every year the last part of July. There are many fun events as part of the fair each year. The fairgrounds also offers a multi-purpose year round facility that can be rented for wedding receptions, large gatherings, auctions, community events and other activities. Harness Racing is also offered throughout the summer season.

Humboldt County Historical Museum has been preserving the past for future generations since 1962. The Museum complex includes several historical structures that represent the early history of the county. Check them out on Facebook.

Humboldt Country Club is located on Highway 3 West of Humboldt. It is a 9-hole course that is challenging for youth and adults. Golf is even offered during the winter months with an inside simulator. Check them out on Facebook.

Humota Theater a community owned theater, playing the latest movies. Check them out on Facebook.

Livermore Freedom Rock located at 402 4th Ave, Livemore, Iowa.  

North Iowa Dragway is located just off Highway 3 east at 2141 Penn Ave., Humboldt. They have races on Saturday nights during the summer season. Check them out on Facebook.

Spring Valley Golf Course is located north of Livermore and is an award winning 18-hole golf course.  

Sundance Lanes is located at 1204 6th Ave. N, Humboldt and features bowling leagues for all ages, cosmic and bumper bowling. A perfect place for a birthday party. Check them out on Facebook.
